Anecdotes usually are not information. If you happen to’re in search of information, listening to a narrative about what occurred to a pal that one time shouldn’t crowd out your rational determination making.

However hope is actual.

When somebody you already know is dealing with a tough scenario, sharing a constructive anecdote about that pal who that one time made it by one thing similar to this–that’s useful. It’s not useful information, nevertheless it’s a helpful hook for hope. And hope amplifies our story of risk and may make it simpler for us to get to the place we’re going.

Then again, sharing the anecdote about that point every little thing blew up and failed–that’s not hopeful and that’s not useful.
